Alan Rickman has died aged 69 after suffering from cancer.
The British actor best known for his role as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise passed away in London. His family confirmed his death to The Guardian.
Rickman had memorable roles in films such as Love Actually and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
The Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn praised Alan Rickman as “one of the greatest actors of his generation”. “My thoughts are with his family and friends,” he wrote on Twitter.
